New knife today. A friend and knife maker made the perfect edc blade for me. It's called "the Socius"
Here we go: The "Socius"
Blade length: 100mm
Steel: Cronidur30/N360, ~60 HRc, (1.4108), stonewashed
Handle: GRP sandblasted
...and a glass breaker, of course.
I'm in love...
Exceptionally, today I got a knife made in China. I am positively surprised, a great edc-knife! The Ruike 801.
Really solid carry! What is the slipjoint?
Queen Cutlery, I forgot the name of the model. After two hours of grinding I was able to cut butter.
I had to send my Queen out to be reground, way beyond my skill set. It's a light saber now though.
At my the angle was much too steep. That's why it takes a while to get it sharp.
Yours is looking very nice, I like the wood and the blade shape.
I had mine completely reground from the top to edge into a thin full flat grind. As you said, the thick blade behind the edge made it so difficult to work with.
Looks very suitable. Maybe I'll do the same at mine, because it's very difficult to cut an apple for example. It's more splitting than cutting. But that's what it's made for, imho.
Thanks for showing, we'll done!
My birthday gift from my girlfriend came in today. Of course, I said I have to make an incoming inspection and it has been approved. First impression was:
- AWESOME -
But now it's back in the box and I have to wait for my birthday. :-(
