This is my first post. I'm new to the EDC game, but have always carried gear. A few weeks ago, I randomly found a picture by TFBrandon. After digging through all of your threads, I'm HOOKED.

My style is a bit different. Unlike TFBrandon my photography skills are lacking, sorry.

I'm on a bit of a budget and anything I can make, I will. I really enjoy working with my hands and making one-off items. I enjoy working with metal, wood, and leather.

I consider my gear as tools and I put them to hard use, daily.

Here is one of the things that I have recently made copying The Raven Workshop Keygrip.

I am also modifying my key fob (pics will come).

Here's a picture of what I was carrying yesterday. I call it my brown gear.

I made the wallet, keygrip, and the flashlight cover. The SureFire is modified to take a 18650 battery and has a cree bulb. I think the pen is a Cross Tech 3 (it's got my name on it & I feel like i should know the name of it). The knife is a Kershaw Whirlwind. The lighter is the solid brass slim zippo.

Other Items be added and included in future pictures.

I would like to thank you all for the inspiration and beautiful pics!!!!

I'm developing a set of black, brown, and silver gear. Next is a fixed blade to go with the brown gear, then the black gear is next.
PS. I'm new to posting in forums so I'm sure I'll mess something up. Please forgive my mistakes.

Thank you for the welcomes. Here's a few pics of the knife that I'm making for the Brown EDC. I'm going to put a few more coats of oil on the handle and make a sheath. The sheath will match the wallet and the flashlight cover.

BTW this is my second try at making a knife. The blade is from a found gardening edge trimmer and the handle is from an old scrap of Ipe wood.

Thank you. I really wanted the handle to fit perfectly. There's no way that thing is slipping out. I tested it with a few very hard thrust into some wood :)

Here's the first version of my Black EDC. I just made the leather key strap (i'm going to remake it a little wider) and the key fob. The pen is another cross with the red ink, black ink, and pencil. The wallet is Saddleback. The flashlight is new and I only bought it because I had some extra cr123a's. I forgot to include my Kershaw. It was clipped to my back pocket (right where it's supposed to be).

I think I need a black lighter. I like rugged gear that I can rebuild if needed, any suggestions?

I'm interested to see how the light and the fob will age. Here's a close up of the fob. It's steel with black patina. The coating is clear shoe goo. I needed something that would end up clear and could still allow for the buttons to be pushed. I might make one for my Brown EDC.

    Edit to fix the pictures.

I remade the leather strap. I think it looks better. I included the old one for reference.

I finished the sheath. It's a bit rough. I think I rushed it. You can see a few stains on it and my fingers. The cuts aren't as clean as I would like and the stitching is a bit too tight. That being said, it will do it's job. I think I'm going to wear it in the middle of my back. It sticks too far out in the pic.

Rev, it looks good. You obviously have the skill and the knowledge, so if you don't like it , you can make another. Not everyone can do that :)

Ugh... another perfectionist. Dude, your pictures are great and the gear you're building is just phenomenal. Welcome to the forums!

Haha. Perfectionist, maybe a little. I'm definitely my own worst critic. Thank you very much for your compliments!

I'm making another sheath. I'll post a pic in a couple of days. I'm trying to make a good clip for it.

I think I've settled on a Dunhill service lighter. They fit my requirements (black, time-tested, serviceable). Now I just need to find a good one on the Bay.

Here's the gear I carried yesterday. It wasn't too sunny here so I didn't really need the hat. I also had my new little black flashlight. I think I might get a Copper Olight i3E to go with this gear. I found the brown Leatherman Wave sheath buried in the garage. I'm not sure if I'll use it much.

    Here's the Brown EDC.

I love that square! I'm like you in the fact that I'm into carrying EDC that is unique and in my own style. I'm not really into trendy for trendys sake. I like what works. I'm including a sample of a typical non-workday EDC. By the way, you are very talented and you seem to enjoy creating the things that work for you. Keep up the great work.[IMG]
