The Savage Model 12FV tack driver. Getting 1/4MOA with Hornady 55gr. V-Max.
Here's my bolt gun. This thing is a coffin nail driver, with surprisingly manageable recoil, especially for a 7 lb rifle
Tikka T3 lite Stainless in 338 Win Mag
Vortex Viper 4-16x50 HSLR FFP XLR Scope
I've been seriously thinking about trading the 12 on a Tikka or a Sako but the thing is, it's dialed with my loads. Doesn't look like much but I'm hitting 1MOA steel plates at 600 meters easy peasy... and it's chambered in .223... and you can't beat that Savage Accutrigger.
My philosophy is simple, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
With that said, I can highly recommend a Tikka. You won't find a smoother bolt on the market. The action is smooth as silk. Mine is a sub moa rifle out to 200 m giving me amazingly tight groups. 600 m is my max range for an "easier" shot. Anything beyond requires a ballistic calculator and a lot of know how. @ 600 m I get 5 inch groups. Been really impressed with my Tikka
I got a bone stock base model T3 lite stainless in 25.06 was my dad's now my son owns it, With my hand loads it a true shooter
I bet. 25.06 is a mean cartridge
You know, the only things I've shot out of bolt guns are .22LR and whatever I took those deer with...maybe 22-250? Idk...it's in a thread somewhere and I've got the cartridges, but they're upstiars.
