Jack Bauer Messenger Bag by Rothco
Andromitto’s pocket dump features a nice array of core EDC items, including a wide variety of pocket knives. Such a wide selection of gear gives him plenty of flexibility for multiple gear configurations depending on his daily needs.
Jack Bauer Messenger Bag
The one item that really stands out to me is the Jack Bauer Messenger Bag from Rothco. If you’ve watched the TV series “24”, then I’m sure you’ve seen the main star, Jack Bauer carrying this bag once or twice.
I like the messenger bag’s classic canvas, no-frills design. It has plenty of room for most gear load-outs, with two large front pockets, side pockets and a massive main compartment. Having all this room is nice, but it does make organizing your gear a bit challenging. I would recommend organizing your smaller EDC items with organizer pouches. This would prevent those smaller items from rolling around loose and becoming hidden in the bottom of the bag.
If you plan on carrying a laptop or tablet, I’d suggest using a padded sleeve for the device(s) as the Bauer Bag has zero internal padding. Setting the bag down firmly or dropping it could damage the corners of your valuable electronics. Also keep in mind the canvas material will only provide minimal rain protection at best, so plan accordingly. Since this bag is made from canvas you can wax/oil it to increase its rain protection.
Here’s a nice video review of the Rothco Vintage Messenger Bag from CheapGeek.
