I agree! I refuse to spend hundreds on holsters when I can make my own that won't fail and I can tweak it to fit my body or the body I'm making it for.
I can do any kind of leather but Kydex is all new. I need to figure it out though so I can make a neck knife sheath for a knife I made. Your doing really nice work I see.
I'm still learning a lot about kydex. Fortunately I'm not a total perfectionist. I prefer function over form so I don't mind if my stuff is a little off perfect. I prefer the organic aspect of it. Being able to custom fit is nice.

Kydex is pretty easy, especially if you don't need to have it perfect. It's cheap and easy to work with. I'm liking the hybrid stuff and have been able to make a lot of stuff and have only spent $75 on materials so far. Give it a try, you'll be converted.

Luck is the by-product of preparation and opportunity colliding. Stay Lucky!

I sure am going to try. I do agree with function over perfection in this case. Perfection is in the ability to carry something comfortably no matter the look.
I will probably always do leather though. My grandfather was a Shoe maker who made orthotic shoes. I've been around leather since before I could walk.

Modified my Balisong sheath to carry carry my Leatherman Bit kit. Retention is excellent. I need to make a new one to carry the extender as well, but this will work for now.

Interesting thread, though I can´t see many of the pics -thanks Photobucket-

I´ve made just a few kydex pieces

I made this holder to let the PPP dangle from the belt into the pocket so that you don´t notice it´s wheight and it wont get lost if dropped.

This prybar has quite a pointy end so I made it this sheath which also helps keeping the hex bit in its place

And last-so far- but not least, I made a sheath for my Magnum pocket axe

Trying to load some pics, can anyone tell me the specs necessary for pics?
I've been using Imgur to host and post my photos. The EDCP gallery is a bit finicky and since I post to multiple forums it makes sense for me.

Just got a new WML to mount on the glock and had to make a new holster. This one turned out great. Carries well and has all the SHTF stuff one would ever need. Used Boltron instead of Kydex, it was a bit different to work with but I got that nice basket weave/carbon fiber look.

- Benchmade 125 Azeria
